Quickstart:
 Manually Creating PCB Designs

Designs can also be manually created using the various tools available in real-PCB.

Manual designs can be created by selecting the Manual option when exporting a circuit diagram from within Crocodile Technology. This takes you directly into real-PCB to create your PCB design, which you then send back to Crocodile Technology when it is finished.

Alternatively, you can run real-PCB on its own and create PCB designs from scratch.

The main screen has three parts. The Design Space, where you create your designs; the Components Pane from where you can choose and add components and the Toolbars where you can access the standard controls such as 'New' or 'Open' and PCB design tools such as 'Add Track' and 'Pour Copper'.

If using real-PCB as a standalone application, you can find and add a component to your design by selecting the library and then component you want in the drop down menus in the Components Pane and by dragging it directly from the 'PCB Footprint Preview' window.

Adding new components to designs converted from within Crocodile Technology using the Manual option is not recommended. If you do add components, note that they must be components supported by Crocodile Technology and you must add the same components into your Crocodile Technology circuit for your model to function.

Add in the required tracks by either using the 'Add Track' tool to directly add them or the 'Add Connection' tool and then auto-routing. If required you can also add in flying wires, fixed wires, silkscreen and copper text and a copper fill to your design.
